I had the best experience today at this dental office. This is my first visit, and doctor Matthew Barrett Was my dentist. After some x-rays, they sat me in a very clean room, and the doctor then came in and introduced himself. He has a fantastic personality, very approachable, and spelled A few things out regarding my x-rays. We chatted for a bit, and he asked if I had any questions, etc. I wasnβt scheduled for a hygiene appointment, however, they were able to squeeze me in shortly after my visit with the doctor. The hygienist, Sarah, was also extremely good; Great βbedsideβ manner, nice personality, professional, and I had a really good comprehensive appointment. I did not feel rushed in the least. I canβt say enough good things about this clinic. I didnβt realize how truly large it is, and have many dentists, and hygienist available. I would not hesitate in recommending this dental office, Dr. Barrett, and hygienist, Sarah

They tell you to show by 730 and the registration doesn't open until then. Staff stepped in front of us and made us sit in chairs when other people that came in after we're helped. Didn't get to our appointment until after 8 which they almost rescheduled because we couldn't get in with registration taking over 1/2 hour.

I originally chose this dental office because of its convenient location. A few years ago, my experiences here were good, but in the past two years the quality of service has become terrible. The hygienistβs attitude was unfriendly and the cleaning was done very roughly. The worst part is their billing practices. Although they were listed as an in-network provider, they overcharged meβonce by more than $100 and another time by over $90. When I noticed the problem and had my insurance representative call, the office manager rudely said, βwe donβt do contract.β This is extremely confusing and unprofessional.

After I jumped through hoops to get them my referral that they insisted on having e-faxed, and not paper copy. I had to wait 4 weeks just to get a call back saying my referral was declined because they arenβt taking new patients, after weeks of me calling and asking about my status. 4weeks in review of my status to be approved just to tell me they canβt help me. And now my hire date has to be pushed back because I have no teeth in the front. And they are the only surgeons that my insurance takes. Iβm out of options and soon they will be. I have a friend at the BBB on the case.

Don't go here if you're in pain. Waste of time and they just tell you things Google can tell you for free. Take Tylenol and ibuprofen for your nerve pain after extraction. Bonus now they gave me a take home oral rinse 6 days after the extraction of a tooth with infected nerve. Not like you could tell your patients the day of surgery about that information. Last time I had both bottom wisdom teeth removed I had both sides get infected after the surgery. After the second infection they offered me a rinsing device for the surgical site. Why wasn't I given preventative care day one!? Why do you insist on patients waiting until they are in severe pain to offer solutions!? How much do you charge for pain and suffering? Uva employees sure love to talk down to their patients and make them feel like their pain management is a joke. Call us if it doesn't help. When after hours so I can go to emergency and owe thousands? Thanks what a joke of patient care. Get them out and on to the next wallet. Edit: I literally told the dentist I had the exact pain and swelling tight jaw from my last wisdom teeth infections. He ignored my concerns even as I explained to him I had no reduction in pain 6 da
